Divisibility by 12
Rule: "A number is divisible by 12 if it is divisible by 3 and 4 at the same time."
For example, 396 is divisible by 12 because it is divisible by 3 (3 + 9 + 6 = 18 ÷ 3 = 6) and also by 4 as the last two digits are divisible by 4 (96 ÷ 4 = 24).
On the other hand, 7832 is not divisible by 12 because it is divisible by 4 (32 ÷ 4 = 8) but not divisible by 3 (7 + 8 + 3 + 2 = 20, a number divisible by 3).
Likewise, 73242 is not divisible by 12 as it is divisible by 3 (7 + 3 + 2 + 4 + 2 = 18 ÷ 3 = 6) but not by 4 because 42 is not divisible by 4.
The calculator gives 396 ÷ 12 = 33, 7832 ÷ 12 = 652.666... and 73242 ÷ 12 = 6103.5, results that confirm our findings using the divisibility rules.
