About the date calculator

The date calculator allows you to add or deduct a certain amount of days from a date to find the new date.

1. The Gregorian Calendar

The Gregorian calendar is the most widely used civil calendar in the world. It was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in October 1582 as a reform of the Julian calendar.

  • 12 months: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December
  • 365 days in a common year, 366 days in a leap year
  • Leap years: Every 4 years, except for years divisible by 100 but not by 400

2. Date Formats

There are several common date formats used around the world:

  1. YYYY-MM-DD (e.g., 2022-05-07): ISO 8601 format, widely used in computing and international communication
  2. MM/DD/YYYY (e.g., 05/07/2022): Commonly used in the United States
  3. DD/MM/YYYY (e.g., 07/05/2022): Commonly used in most countries outside of the United States

Example

The publishing date of this guide is: 2022-03-21 (ISO 8601 format)

In the United States, it would be written as: 03/21/2022

In most other countries, it would be written as: 21/03/2022
